Best Game Reviewer Ever

I found this guy on the web somehow. In the past for game reviews I used to go to gamespot. But for sometime now there has been
controversy at gamespot about reviewers getting fired over giving their real opinions on a game.

Anyway to give this guy props his name is Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw:
I’m not sure if he has his own site but he is doing game reviews on a site called “The Escapist
His column is called Zero Punctuation:

This is his review of Assassins Creed:

Series 7 + Progress thus Far

So I’ve made it through my first week or so of becoming a Stock Broker!

Basically so far this is whats gone on:

  1. learning a 5 part script
  2. learning how to cold call about 500 people a day
  3. learning rebuttals and overcoming obstacles/rejections
  4. learning to control your voice dynamics/inflection

Pick up the phone, call someone random and try to sell them on anything and you will see how difficult this can be. Now pick up the phone and try to do this again with only millionaires. :-p

I think its fun because it shows you what you are made of and it challenges you to rise to the occasion.

So the next step is becoming an actual broker instead of a cold-caller. Brokers are the ones who can offer stock recommendations, talk about percentage gains, and actually manage accounts.

In order to be a broker you need your series 7 license which allows you to trade common securities/stocks.

The series 7 books cost 170 and the class another couple hundred. I got my books now so I can start studying.

Next I take an in house green light test that proves to the brokerage I’m are ready to sit the series 7 test.

If I pass the green light then I’m allowed to go on and take the series 7 test.
The time frame is 2-3 months.

Stay tuned for more updates on my progress.

War stories coming soon…

Welcome to Wall Street!

Ok so as you can see by my page I’m a techie by trade.

Up until now…eeerrrkkkk|Glass Ceiling|

I’d been moving up the tech echelons when I realized the only way to bridge the gap between what I’m making and what I want to be making is to go into management.

Since I’ve been consulting , moving around and not been at any one company for more than 3 years, its kind of hard to get promoted to Management.

+ I don’t want pats on the back or crowds of n00bs staring at me in awe, I don’t want seniority. So I took a hard look at what motivates me to work and I decided it was The Money.

So I took the plunge…Into Wall Street!!!

I am now on the fast track to becoming a stock broker!

Drastic you say? Madness? Well who dares wins is what I say.

+ I picked apple 3 years before it had its come back and I picked Google at 350 last year knowing their product line was so strong they’d hit 700-800 by the end of the year.

So if all goes well I will be getting my series 7 and 63 in 3 months.

I will keep you posted on what its like for a complete nOOb to become a stock broker.

Show me The Money!

This kid was pretty funny!

Old School

Hell yeah baby this theme is throw back awesome! I Think I’m gonna leave it for a while till something better comes along.

Suppose to go party tonight in the City.

Right now I should probably just use twitter till I’ve got more to post about.
Egh I’ll feed twitter to my blog and use both.

Hello World!

First a confession. I can’t really write, which means you are in for a strange and mysterious journey every time you come to this site.

But I will make it look as pleasant as possible so you can pretend my writing makes you warm and fuzzy.

At time’s I will probably rant, loose direction entirely or just goof off and play wow. Such is the life of a semi-employed tech junkie. [Notice I didn’t say tech whiz!]

Yeah sure I’m good at some stuff but so is everyone.

Also I reserve the right to forever edit, delete and re-arrange posts although I will try to leave the ones I feel are gems intact.

–BEGIN EDIT–

Ok I just realized that this is kind of like acting in reality TV in that I can stage what I say a million times before I get it right. And then you get to see it and think I’m so brilliant ’cause I wrote this in the spur of the moment via my cell phone while simultaneously sipping a coffee, reading the morning paper and zig-zagging through rush hour traffic. Guess I get to be a super hero in a way? Meh…It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it.
